I am afraid I could never get into Mitsouko. It is nice on others; but not, I feel, on me. I am fond of Caron fragrances. In particular, I like Bellodgia, Narcisse Noir, and En Avion.

But I have always wanted to try Cruel Gardenia. It must be fabulous with a name like that!

I adore Guerlain and I would love to try the exclusives. Today I tried another Guerlain scent to which I have never given much thought-Chamade. It is a very cleverly blended fragrance, I thought. Not sure if I could wear it day in day out at the moment but it could become a favourite.

Hi Milla,

Chamade is one of the most understated and least known Guerlains.  It was big in the 70s but now it is only carried at selected stores.  It is a lovely fragrance and I enjoy wearing it in the Spring.  It is not by any means a Spring fragrance however the opening note is very green which makes it suitable.  There is also a lot on Narcisse in this fragrance which is lovely to have in Spring/Summer.

I found it at John Lewis in London, which sell a wide range of fragrances; the more exclusive lines can usually be found at Liberty's. I really liked Chamade and I am putting it on my 'wish list'.

I had forgotten about Chamade. I wore it for awhile some time ago. It is a very elegant fragrance.

opps - had a bit of trouble posting.  I like Chamade a lot more than Mitsouko.  Actually I do not like Mitsouko at all.  The dry-down is like moth balls on me.  It is one of these perfumes which only smells good on the right skin chemistry.

Same for me.

I like Chamade and Mitsouko but only dabbed.  Otherwise, too overpowering.
Age is a state of mind.

I used to love Chamade and Nahema. Also wore Mitsouko a couple of decades ago.
  • Complexion: NC 15 winter, NC 20 summer. Still oily.
  • Eyes: Blue
  • Hair: Very fine + wavy / curly. Would naturally be light or medium blonde - I think! Who knows?

These are some of absolute favorites in the world!

I have gone through 2 bottles of Spiritueuse Double Vanille.  Perfect boozy fall/winter scent, for me.
Tonka Imperiale, Oriental Brulant, Gourmand Coquin and Angelique Noire are also in full bottle rotation.  I did have Boise Torride, but something changed with me and the scent just made me nauseous- it went off to ebay.

They all have exceptional lasting power on me- so I do think they are worth the $$$.

I tried Rose Barbare(sp?) and Cruel Gardenia some time ago, but they just didn't suit me.  So many people seem too love Cuir Beluga, but I just can't get into it.

If anyone plans on ordering (I'm not affiliated, just a very happy customer), the Guerlain boutique in LV has incredible customer service.  Tee is a great SA♥
