Easy way to put up long hair - Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin

I am all thumbs with my hair and it only took a couple of tries to succeed in getting my long, stubborn hair into a messy chignon with these. No elastic binder necessary. Just pull hair back, twist into a bun, tuck ends under and then twirl a couple of these in. They spin right out to take hair down and I find that there is much less pull on my scalp when I use these instead of making a ponytail with elastic.

Only slight drawback is that they come in different colors and drugstore.com just randomly picks what color. I lucked out and got those intended for blondes but I think they spin in far enough that it wouldn't be a big deal. If I lived close to shops I'd probably go there first so I could have the color of my choosing.

Me three!  When DD first got her's, I put one in my hair, and we both started laughing!  My hair is shoulder-length, and very fine.  You could see the pins sticking out of my puny bun.

I had to laugh at Styyna's comment that the color wouldn't matter once the pin was inserted.  Do they come in a transparent?

I've been seeing these at my local Walgreen's, CVS and Rite-Aid. I saw a vid on youtube and it look pretty simple enough. I keep meaning to buy them but not sure why I haven't tried them. I'll need to give them a try.  I've been putting my hair in a bun lately...lost my hairdresser, again.

We'll try not to hate you too much, poppy!   I really need these. I couldn't find something to hold my hair today. I didn't think twice and I used chopsticks. I forgot about them until my boss wanted to know if it was some new hair style I was testing.  He said it nice but maybe I should add a couple of dumplings to give a finishing look.  Yeah, those chopsticks hit the trash rather quickly. They weren't even the pretty ones.

SusieQ, I remember when chopsticks were a big fad in hair accessories. Must have been back in the '70s when I had hair long enough (barely) to put up.
