I agree witht you, BlackCat.   I love a nice light scent of flowers.  The one I have is called Beloved-Purple Blossom by American Beauty.  I was intrigued because of the purple box.   I purchased it at Kohl's. It took several months before I actually purchased it because I wanted to make sure it won't be strong.

The scent reminds of the Designing Women. Ladies, do you remember the TV series.  Anyway, there was an episode where the ladies did something to this one man, I think. But, he said that will always imagine the ladies on a veranda. It's Spring and the sun is shining. The ladies all wore white dresses and one or two of them with parasols.  There is gentle breeze and behind the ladies were wild flowers swaying with the breeze. I know it's kind of crazy but I love that scene and I think that's why I love floral scent.  There is nothing like clean sheets, smell of lavender and sheer curtains on French doors gently swaying with the wind.

What a lovely image you just described, SusieQ.
I can almost see it, feel it, smell it.
This ability for scent to tap into deep memories is truly wondrous.

Yes, I agree. It's strange how scent can bring back happy and sometimes not so happy memories but it's quite fascinating how the human body works.

I think that's way I tend to lean towards the floral scent because of this image. It's very serene and after a hard day at work, it's nice to come back to this image and stretch the stress away.

Oh, I love florals, they are my absolute favourites. Just love them. I wear Chanel No.5, Bellodgia, and sometimes Gardenia Passion or Heure Exquise by Annick Goutal.

I find jasmine difficult to wear but I too love Serge Lutens A la Nuit. Also on my list are his Fleur d'Oranger & Fleurs de Citronnier.

I have a small sample of Fleur d'Oranger and found it to be a monster fragrance.  Big blast of orange flower.   :D  I had a mock orange by my front door and loved when it came into bloom.  This was heavier.  I did not pay any attention to the dry down (I think I scrubbed it off) so I really did not give it a good trial.  I was quite surprised by how 'big' it was.

Big fragrances are a hallmark of SL. (The one you got from Perfume Posse is one of the few exceptions.). I usually dab lightly.

Yes, Orange Blossom is superb. Rose is too: I like Crabtree and Evelyn's Rose Fraiche a lot.
