BB Cream lovers...Now there is CC Cream
« on: August 12, 2011, 09:51:14 AM »
Rachel Kum - Ms Singapore Universe 2009 - has come up with her version of BB cream but calls it Rachel K CC Cream. The CC stands for Color Control. And, it non-yellow base makeup.  The first link is really good because the blogger provides guides on how to best apply the BB creams in general.

With my latest order of Missha BB cream and have not yet arrived, I'm relunctant to even try to find where to buy this one.  But, the latest I heard it's not sold in the US, yet.   Maybe once my skin79 is gone, I'll try and find Ms. K's products.  She has a website where you can purchase her line but her website is being updated.  True or not her marketing strategy is quite amazing. Brains and Beauty...what a deadly combo.  Her CC cream getting a lot of hype in the youtube community since noone in the US can get their hands on it and you know what happens when people can get their hands on a product...

Thanks for the links!  I had not heard of CC Cream, but it looks very pretty.  I love that it is color-brightening.  It may look better on those of us who are cooler-toned than Asian skin tones are.  I would not mind trying this one!  Samples, please.

I guess we are out of luck here in the US for now.  Her website is scheduled to be back up in September.  I read  some reviews that said CC Cream is more refined, with better coverage and more skin nourishing ingredients.  It looks pink in the swatches.

The Rachel K CC Cream is very light. If you are darker, you'd need to use bronzer all over to make it work.
  • Complexion: fair neutral
  • Eyes: boring brown
  • Hair: dark brown (over the grey), coarse, naturally curly but treated with keratin

Rachel's site is up now.  The CC Cream looks nice, but I fear the shipping would be a deal-breaker for me.

Oh dear, something else that's PINK - ugh! Why do "skin brighteners" and now so-called "color-control" things have to be pink? Don't they realize there are people for whom pink does NOT go with their skintone and in fact makes them look ashy or pale? I know it does me, with my light-to-medium skin with golden undertones. Pass. Also, I hate the preconceived notion that lighter skin tones are by default cool. Indeed, some are, but not all.
Also, this brings up the issue of why does the color tone of one's complexion need to be "controlled" at all? Far better to embrace what one has and find makeup colors that complement that instead of trying to "fix" one's skin color. Back in the day, some makeup people swore that if one had yellow-toned skin, one had to wear pink-toned foundation(of which there was and still is plenty)to "correct". Looks like that idea is still around with the skin brighteners that have cool-toned mica particles in them etc. Not all that many have golden particles. And now Color Control cream being on the pink side.
Maybe better if the so-call Color Control cream came in three shades - warm, neutral and cool? Then it might appeal to a wider group of people.

I heard there are three shades.  Lisalisad1 uses CC cream and she mentioned that there are three of them.  I haven't had the change to look - really don't want to - because I have three BB creams that I need to finish off before I try her product.  If you do get a chance to try her CC, I look forward to hearing your experience.
