Tupelo - those are so beautiful. I was
very tempted by them but decided that my overall lifestyle is more casual. Seeing those again, and your comment about price with which I completely agree, I'm desirous of them all over again.
Alas, I have my list of things for DH to choose from finished, including URLs and color/size information, as far as the "big" stuff is concerned. Now I'm adding things like socks and slipper insoles - I love
Vermont Country Store for those kinds of things. Somehow I think sneaking a full pair of gorgeous boots might not slip past him.

As Cougar said to me, these are lifetime boots. Timeless style, well made, worth resoling should the need arise (my father resoled his shoes all the time and they always looked brand new, even after years of wear), and I can tell that the fit and construction are such that they will just become more comfortable with time and wear.
