Estee Lauder Sensuous Nude

I just received Estee Lauder's new scent Sensuous Nude as a gift.  Now, there are very many EL scents that I dislike, so this was not a no-brainer for me by any means.  It is described as a woody musk, however, and that is my kind of perfume!

I am wearing it right now and I think this is going to be a winner for me.

I love the name, Sensuous Nude.  It would be interesting to know how they come up with names in general.  Woodsy would be the last thing to come to mind when I think of sensuous nude but I guess everyone have different ideas when it comes to certain things.   I just checked this out and a pink bottle was the not was I was expecting. Amber, perhaps but certainly not pink. I'm intrigue.  :blink:

This is unusual for Estee Lauder - I will say that.  It is what is known as a skin scent, meaning it wears close to the body.  It would be appropriate for work because it is not a loud scent.  It really is subtle and quite nice.  Here are the notes:

Top Notes: Bergamot, mandarin orange, pink pepper, pepper
Middle notes: Musk, Jasmine, lily of the valley, coconut, honey
Base notes: Amber, vanilla, woodsy notes, heliotrope, sandalwood

I like the original Sensuous, it is a very 'warming' scent that just melts in your skin, but I haven't tried the Sensuous Nude yet.

I've got something very similar in my garden, but I thought they were called 'Day Lillies'. They are not particularly fragrant...

Molten usually refers to liquid metal. Maybe this is a reference to smoky woods? Not knowing the scent, does this make any sense as a note that could be introduced?

I don't get a smoky vibe from Sensuous Nude - it's far too light for that.  Sandalwood is the only wood I can detect, but then I am not a trained nose by any means!

It may still be smokey since it's better to say molten wood rathen than burned wood.  :) I don't know either...just adding my thoughts.  :tongue:
