Good on ya!  Love the fabric, love the cut, adore the color.  Will you wear it with tights, per the model?  I like the look of that for winter.  You will be glorious, I know.

Love it! I would've put it in my cart if they had my size.  We could've been twins - darn it!

Chiming in after the magical hour your time but I hope you loved wearing this dress. I fell in love with it the moment I saw the picture. I'd love to know how you accessorized it.

Oh, I bet you looked just gorgeous. It's elegant, fresh and fun.

I wish wish wish we didn't have Christmas, New Year and holiday get-togethers in such appalling heat. It's all wrong and I'm not overly fond of summer fashion, using the term "fashion" loosely for my mode of dressing.

I always go for blue. Thank you for the compliments, the dress is very easy to wear. I just accessorized it with my little gold chain with a small pendant and... an apron! but it was a very nice apron, navy blue with white stripes. Took it off to see the New Year in and the Old Year out!
Did anyone else dress up for NYE? I was just reading in the paper that the 'in- look' was PJ's. I like wearing them on New Year's day, but on NYE I like to dress up.

When I was in my late teens and early 20s, I always went to a very elegant party on New Year's Eve.  The older adults had their gathering upstairs in this huge house, and their college-age sons and their friends had the finished basement.  It was fabulous and we all dressed in our finest new Christmas outfits.  I had my first taste of caviar there.

I miss that a little bit.

Wow!
I have never had caviar, not real caviar. DH tried it and didn't like it (too salty he says). I do like getting dressed up sometimes. On special occasions.

I tried caviar on a cruise ship once.  Didn't like it either; too fishy-salty for me.  Guess I'm a simple gal at heart.

But Listy's party did sound like a lot of fun.  DH and I just stayed home this year.  He is a drummer (hobby) and when he is in a band he often gigs on NYE.  So at least I did not have to stay home alone.

The older I get, the less I like the idea of being on the road with others who have been celebrating too much.

You mean when DH has a gig to play you don't go with him?  It sounds like fun to me!

I was married to a musician the first time around. Going with him to gigs all depended upon where and what he was playing.

I remember a NYE at a bowling alley with an auditorium. It was great fun, especially hearing the girls in the restroom swooning over my then-husband.

Other gigs weren't so much fun though - loud, smoky, and long hours while listening to the same pieces that they played everywhere. When they had a new set put together it was more interesting but those took a long time to prepare so didn't happen very often.

No, I rarely went with him.  Only if I had someone to sit with.  He actually preferred I did not, because then he did not have to worry about me, just the playing.  He would say, "I cannot protect you from some drunken slob if I'm stuck behind the drums".

We hosted band practice in our basement, because it was far easier to schlep their guitars to our house then for DH to bring/set up his drums elsewhere.  So, yeah.  I knew the tunes.  Besides, I'm not much of a party girl.  Unless the conversation is good, one drink-one set and I'm ready to go home.  And who can have a good conversation with a band blasting in your ear?

Good point. The other wives/girlfriends or someone I knew had to go along or I didn't go either. I've never been comfortable alone in a bar to begin with. Nice of your DH to be so concerned too.
