Reality TV favorites?
« on: July 01, 2012, 08:31:54 PM »
I hate to admit it, but I am sort of hooked on nearly any city/variety of Real Housewives on Bravo.  It's just so unreal and dramatic on a level that I would never experience -- so I find it entertaining.

I also like the Dog Whisperer and the cat guy's show who is like a dog whisperer to cats -- Jackson Galaxy is his name but I can't remember the name of the show.

Marci, I think it's called My Cat from Hell.

Most of the reality shows that we watchnow are more the singing and dancing kinds. We used to love the Dog Whisperer. We just kinda fell out of it and not sure why.  My DH watches the reality show about Mrs Eastwood. He went to school with someone in the show...so he says.

Marci, me too, especially the Orange County, Beverly Hills, and New Jersey ones. Oh, and Atlanta, especially when the episode's about Kim.

These shows are my guilty pleasure   I didn't get so into the Miami and New York City ones.

Agreed, I find those 3 my faves also.  Haven't seen the Beverly Hills gang in a long time -- are they off the air?  I might miss Camille, and I hope that Kim is still doing well after rehab.  See, I am hooked.

I like Atlanta least and must have never caught Miami wives for some reason -- I didn't even know they had a show.

Project Runway is as close as I've come to being a fan of reality TV. I watched part of one season of American Idol through to the end but couldn't get into it again this year. I've never watched a whole episode of Real Housewives of any city. Maybe I should give it a try.

Just buckle in for some major "drama".  I think what got me hooked was that I couldn't believe that they were carrying on about THAT -- whatever that was at the time, so I had to learn more.  LOL  And so it began.  Sort of hooked on them now.  And when I mention to my friends, they cannot believe that I would watch that stuff.  LOL.  The real me comes out!

These days I hardly ever watch TV. I catch up on things on BBC iPlayer. But I admit I watch old episodes of America/UK's Next Top Model on Saturdays when  doing the ironing.

Someone else who still irons - yay! With today's fabrics a lot of things don't need ironing but I do enjoy ironing those that still require it. There's something about the crispness of freshly ironed clothing that appeals to me.

I still iron, too. Every Saturday night when the house is quiet and everyone is asleep.   :)

I have watched 'My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding', too! and I know I am an oddity, because I actually enjoy ironing... what's more, although I watch TV sometimes, I mostly listen to the radio.... an ancient radio 'soap', called 'The Archers', which has been going on for a good 60 years. It was my husband's grandmother favourite radio programme

I would love to listen to radio "soap" type of program.s I can't remember how long ago it was but I remember listening to something like that. I think it was  supposed to be a scary storyline. Anyway,  one day it was there and the next - just when it was getting to the good part - vampires and stuff - the show disappeared from the air. I was really disappointed.

Same here.  Though I sometimes have trouble remembering who's who with the Orange County women.  And, I don't think any of them are wives anymore!
I love watching Bevery Hills for the extravagance, and of course I have to watch NJ (though you know we're not all like that here, right? ).
