Bonita Nail Enamel
« on: January 15, 2010, 01:28:33 AM »
As a little giftee, a GF gave me 2 little bottles from this brand I've never heard of.  I can barely find a thing about it on the internet but it looks like maybe it's in some salons.

One is a brilliant bright medium depth blue (the name is Blue Txt) and the other is a brilliant citrus emerald green (the name is Oasis).  Wiyald!

Very party colors ... probably more for Spring or Summer ... but I can't wait to play with them.

I had complained that I have many colors but no greens ... and now I do  :D

I've never heard of it either, but there are probably tons of brands out there that haven't become well-known yet. Have fun playing!

Kewl!  They both sound really pretty, you'll have to show us a pic. ;D

Cougar, you & Marcia and some of the other gals have me considering deep blues and purples too- for the first time ever, I might add lol.  Ah, the power of persuasion...

No pics yet nut the green is mighty limey.  A friend suggested it could be worn Halloween  :D

In fact, it's pretty awful looking.  But I did it and now I know what it looks like.  Actually, it might be nice in the Spring or on someone with a tan or deeper skintone.  If you don't play with stuff, how do you know if you like it or not?

So true. The OPI shimmery chic that's beautiful on my toes, is kinda yucky looking on my fingernails.

I'm having so much fun with nail polish lately. The thing to remember is that if it's ugly or weird you can always remove it. It's also fun watching the reaction of others when you show up with something totally different at our age.

i have over a dozen colors, some with metal flakes or sparkles and also some from the Craquellure series. I love them, they don't peel off or chip like other ones do. I believe they're an import from China. here's a pic of a few i have.

:hi: Welcome, Snow!  It looks like you have a favorite nail color in your pix.  It looks pretty!

Hey Coug, I'm sporting all weird colors this month in honor of Halloween. Last week I wore orange with sparkles. This week it's dark purple and one accent stick-on purple with spider and web on the ring finger.

Next week is probably going to be green with sparkles.

I didn't even notice that!  It's the light pink one, isn't it?  Maybe that was her first one.

Orange, green, dark purple?  You are a braver woman than I am!

Welcome to snowvixen!  Please come and visit with us some more. :welcome:

First, welcome snowvixen. We're always excited when someone new joins and you even started with a great picture!  :welcome:

SusieQ, I love what you're doing with your colors this month. That's a great idea to play on the seasonal theme. DH doesn't love anything on my nails but pinks and some reds but you're giving me ideas.

It wasn't long ago at all that when seeing weird dark polish I explained "I simply will not apply polish that looks like I slammed my hands in the car door!".

Well, I wear all sorts of strange colors now and love it.  There's just no accounting for taste.

One week I word Dior Blue Denim (a nice china blue).

Next week I sported Le Metier de Beute Midnight Rendezvous (a gorgeous charcoal sapphire); their quality is DREADFUL so skip the brand.  I then covered it with OPI Go My Own Way
(sheer muted teal blue with fine blue glitter) which was the closest match and divine (top quality, too).

Next week I wore an ancient Lancome Sandy Copper (an autumnal metallic copper); this is the one lasting a week with zero chips under the Sally H.

Now I am wearing my new (and infamous) Essie Little Brown Dress (which looks exactly like melted dark chocolate); quality is superb.

Next I might try the Chanel Peridot (described as a murky greenish-gold flanked by edges of indigo and teal to an almost spring green with an edge of antique gold and indigo ribboning).

I read that nail polish is the big thing now with the economy the way it is ... i.e., I can't afford the clothes but I can get any "in" shade I want in a nail polish.

I'm going green next week, too. But, it's not Chanel. I purchased it at Walgreen's. I can't remember the name brand.  :puzzled:

In college, my friend Susan and I spent hours wandering around a drugstore for something to do.  We'd come home with a nail polish.  What a pick-me-up!

I dont think I could do green exactly. Maybe a mix of silver in it. I like blues.

Sometimes to save on nail polish I mix shades a bit, just go over one with a different color. Yesterday did OPI Ocean Potion (translucent blue green ) over The More The Berrier and got this.

It reminds me a little of a color you may see on some insects-- that weird translucent mix of colors, maybe a fly.
