Sticking to the Rules - The Legal Kind
« on: December 03, 2009, 12:19:01 AM »
Beauties -

From (and no doubt numerous other sites):

"Beginning [yesterday], bloggers, Twitterers, and others who write online reviews or endorse products using new media must disclose it when they receive free merchandise or payment for writing about an item."

While I highly doubt that many of our members writing raves about their favorite products are receiving free product or payment for their favorable comments, there is a small chance that one or more members are bloggers or otherwise involved in electronic media and receive these incentives in connection with their blogs or other media.

Any members writing about a product who receive free product or payment for writing about the product are required to include a brief statement disclosing this fact.

If you write about a product and you do not receive any free products or payments, we do not require any disclosure. We do not intend to burden our members with extra work unless it becomes clear that we must.

This post will be incorporated in our Rules when we get around to formalizing them.

Thank you.

I always write (no affiliation) out of habit, from the other place.
There are good days and there are bad days and this is one of them.
