So, if you could choose just one fragrance and name it The Best Fragrance ever, what would it be? If you can, please describe it a bit, too. I´m really curious to hear what you think!

I´ve been so far away from the world of fragrance I´d have great difficulty doing this myself, as I haven´t smelled lots of fragrances for ages.

At the moment, I THINK it might be a tie between Chanel 19 and CB Eternal Return.

So, I am breaking my own rule already: name just one.
  • Complexion: NC 15 winter, NC 20 summer. Still oily.
  • Eyes: Blue
  • Hair: *Very* fine + wavy. Middle / dark blonde (my natural hair color) with some highlights.

Anne,  I can't anwer that and I am someone who has had tears in her eyes the first time I sprayed on Mitsouko after a long absence (after Autumn, when there is chill in the air...)
Life is too short for  so many beautiful scents and, although I have a 'thing' about Mitsouko, I will always be interested in other scents.

*Every* time I'm out with men they say they love the fragrance.
One boyfriend insisted on spraying a hankerchief, placing it in a baggie, and putting it under his pillow to sleep.
and I happen to love how it smells on me :-)

The more I wear Lovely, the better I like it.  Plus it really, really lasts on me.  One spray and I'm good for the whole day.  On me, though, I don't get fresh floral.  Don't you smell the patchouli, white amber, cedar, and musk?  I think this is a wonderfully sexy, sultry scent!  Isn't that weird?

Chanel No. 5: the Eau de Cologne formulation from the late 1960's. I bought it on my 21st birthday and remember exactly how it smelled. I long for that scent.

I confess to being far from sophisticated when it comes to scent. The Best for me is Bobbi Brown's Bath. It takes me through warm and cold weather, leads to compliments, and is soft, clean and comforting - slightly soapy, as the name suggests. I love my baths and this is a perfect fit for me and my body chemistry.

I like the smell of beautiful soaps, too!
The scent that my DH (and lots of other people) loved on me was Rive Gauche but not the present version; the original one.

Acqua di Gioia by Armani.  This is a description from the Armani site:

Acqua di Gioia is a hymn to nature in all its forms. It is a clean, incredibly fresh, aquatic scent that is ultra-approachable, yet memorable.
• HEAD: Begin with a “mojito” inspired sensual blend of crushed mint leaves, warmed by brown sugar and mixed with the zest of Italian Limone.
• HEART: Feminine floral notes emerge with joyous hints of acquatic Jasmine, dew of Peony and subtle traces of pink pepper.
• BASE: Its signature Mediterranean trail is rooted by the hearts of cedarwood and Labdanum

  • Complexion: Medium/Combination
  • Eyes: Brown
  • Hair: Black w/waves

I don't think it matters about sophisticated or niche or high-end or any of that.  If you have a scent that feels like "you" when you wear it and also gets compliments, you are doing this right.  Each of you seems perfectly matched with your favorite.

The Sung perfume in the original formulation that was made in the 1980's.  I have never found a perfume that smelled as good on me and elicited as many comments before or since.  And I am a perfume junkie!
