movie "Hope Springs"
« on: August 24, 2012, 11:11:11 PM »
Saw it this evening and it's worth every penny!  All the actors did a great job and I laughed many times.  All three, Streep, Jones, and Carell were cast against type but were so good, I thought they were the characters they played.

Thanks for the review!  I love Tommy Lee Jones - what a great, rumpled, expressive face he has!  So does this older married couple end up still being hot?

I must not tell you :-)
And oh, after I posted the link, I thought better of it.  Don't watch the trailer because they give way too much away.

I like the look of this one, very much. TLJ is a compelling actor, as is Meryl Streep of course, always.

I really want to see this movie. First one that's caught my attention in a long time. Hopefully it will be available on Netflix or Amazon or DVD sooner rather than later!

This is an old topic now, but wanted to update it. So who has seen the movie since the summer?
I watched it last month and absolutely LOVED it. What talents.

Thank you, Chataround, for resurrecting this topic! Now I know what I'll do in lieu of watching the Super Bowl today. I checked and Amazon has Hope Springs available for streaming rental at $3.99.

Another movie that I've heard good things about is Arbitrage and I see that Amazon has that one available for rental as well. Maybe I'll have a movie night!

Enjoy Styyna. It is a very worthwhile movie. Let us know what you think!
I am going to watch The Sessions, tonight. It is an Independent movie starring Helen Hunt. Got great accolades. ::handing out popcorn::

Brilliantly written and performed. It rang true on so many levels, especially Meryl Streep's character. Highly recommended to anyone who hasn't seen it.

So glad you liked it!!!!

I watched  a movie last night too, called The Sessions. It was a very interesting movie, an adaptation of a true story about a journalist who has polio and is in an iron lung.
He is asked to write a story about sexual surrogates and the disabled. Helen Hunt plays his surrogate and she was totally naked for what felt like a lot of the movie but all of the nudity felt necessary and was not "porn-y" at all. No male nudity. (shucks, LOL)
