Removing Glitter Polish
« on: August 29, 2013, 06:02:46 PM »
I love glitter polish, but removing it is a pain.

I recently read about a technique that simplifies removal. Here's the link:

http://gothampolish.blogspot.com/2012/08/diy-peel-off-base-coat.html

Elmer's glue is recommended for this, but since I didn't have any on hand, I thought Modge Podge might work, since it's a very similar product. A Google search confirmed that others have made this substitution.

I applied a coat of Modge Podge first (I filled a clean, empty polish bottle with Modge Podge), then base coat (might be able to skip that), polish (3 coats of color and a couple of glitter), and Seche Vite top coat. When I was ready to change my manicure about 5 days later, I was able to peel everything off fairly easily with hardly any need for polish remover.

I want to try this with Elmer's next time to see if it works better or not as well.

Has anyone else tried this?
