help me choose a colour
« on: September 07, 2013, 09:19:09 AM »
I want to treat one of my younger colleagues, who is having surgery in a couple of weeks. She is a beautiful, black young woman, very stylish , who  loves nail polish; she changes her colour every week so I would like to buy her some nail polish  for her collection. Can you give me some ideas for a colour that will look stunning on black skin, as I am not very clever with nail polish?
anything by Essie, O.P.I., Butter London, Chanel....
Thanks x

Butter London has some beautiful shades!  For your friend, what about some of these:

Brown Sugar - Opaque, copper shimmer with gold glitter

Thames - Soft, blue-green, with just a tiny undercurrent of gold.

Wallis - Tarnished, metallic olive gold

I like the Brown Sugar, but I tend to lean toward warm shades myself. If you ever see her with pale shades on, the champagne could be striking against dark skin.

Thank you for the suggestions. I bought her Thames, because I have seen her wearing green shades and Thames is such a striking colour. I also bought her a Sally Hansen one in a deep wine colour; it is called Wine Not!

I think Thames is going to be lovely on her. Such a pretty color!  It will be perfect for the coming season.

I'm glad - Thames is such a gorgeous shade!  That was my favorite for her, actually.  You are a good friend, dear. :)

I'm not adventurous with nail color but I love Thames and think it the best choice. Please tell us how it looks on her if you can.

Haven't seen her today, she was not at work ,as she is having pre-op checks. I am sure both will look great on her and if it cheers her up, I will be happy.
