Is anyone watching? Many have compared this show to Sex In The City but to me it's more like that old show I used to watch called Thirtysomething. Lots of self involvement and drama, LOL.
Still, I am a big fan of Lena Dunham. I would prefer not to see her half naked all the time, but I sure give her credit for not having body issues!!

This show bores me and fills me with a kind of contempt for over privileged girls in their 20's. I can hardly believe it made it past the 1st season! I did watch the whole 1st season but saw nothing redemptive enough to entice me watch any more of it. I lived in NYC in my 20's with 7(!) roommates while attending school full time and working full time. I suppose I do not need to tell you there is nothing in this story that is evocative of my 20 something experiences.

I know it's popular, but I've only seen it a few times, & I don't have HBO anymore. It's on HBO, right?  I was a little embarrassed by it, honestly,  :-[  and that was watching by myself LOL!  I don't think I saw enough episodes to get a good idea of it.  I do remember liking Thirtysomething!

It is HBO, and my goodness, I"ve seen a lot of embarrassing things on it too.I stopped watching after the first season but picked it up again when I downloaded an "HBO on the GO" app.

I'm a New Yorker too and I agree, this show is NOT representative of your average 20 something in NY!

The show is so popular even to other countries so I think it's really a good show to watch but I just don't have time to watch it often. In my opinion in relation to this topic, girls don't need a perfect body to be worthy of love, respect and attention. Girls have soft hearts that are capable of softening stone hearts.

Heard about it through MUA but will check it out eventually. Not sure from the descriptions on that board it will really take with me. But will give it a chance.

One of my friends is a great fan of the show and I have watched a few episodes with her. And I couldn't just digest the show.
