OPI crystal nail file
« on: February 19, 2014, 08:06:05 AM »
I just received this from Amazon and I have to rave about it. Both sides are the same "roughness" but that's just fine. It's not too rough but it really makes quick work of filing and leaves a very smooth edge. I don't get excited about nail implements as a rule but this is the best nail file I've ever used.

I agree!  I've had mine for years. I love that it doesn't wear out.  I also used one made by Essie but found the Essie one to have slightly thicker edges. So with my short nubbins I like the thinner OPI file because it helps me file my nail corners more easily

Yay!  I am so glad you like it.  Now I am wondering how it compares to the one I have from Sephora.  Did it come in a protective case?

It came in a clear round plastic "case" with a top on it and that's what I keep it in. It was only about $7.50 and I'd be happy even without something to store it in for that price and quality.

That sounds about the same.  Keep using that case to protect the file from breaking.  My first Sephora one did not have the case and it broke when I dropped it on my tile floor.  Now I have a case and always use it.

I looked at yours on Amazon and noticed the directions say to use the file wet.  Are you doing that?  I didn't know I was supposed to! :P

I missed the part about using it wet. I use it dry and it works like a dream. I've read that filing wet nails can lead to splitting so I think I'll stick with dry.

Okay -- just checking to see if I am missing something important.  I'll stick with dry too.
